The July exhibit at JarrettThor Fine Arts in Colonial Beach is “Color Connections” featuring two regional artists, Bill Firestone and Rob Rudick. The opening reception will be Friday July 8 from 6-9PM as part of the town’s Second Friday Art Walk. The show will hang until August 7. The public is invited free of charge.
Bill Firestone is a graduate of VCU who now paints at his studio in Lorton. His strong, yet inviting paintings of a wide variety of subjects feature unexpected color, active brushstrokes and a hint of abstraction.
Rob Rudick is a photographer from Tacoma Park and Colonial Beach with a unique eye for color and composition. He travels internationally and finds amazing landscapes, architecture, cars and most importantly, common daily objects.
On site at JarrettThor is also the Tarver Harris Design Studio with its fine textiles and paintings. JarrettThor also has a variety of paintings from its permanent artists, decorative minerals, jewelry, reed baskets and wooden bowls. Hours are Thursday-Sunday 10AM-5PM and other times by appointment.
