Exploring Abstraction by Beverly Ryan

augustcardwebFor its August exhibit, JarrettThor Fine Arts is pleased to present the works of Beverly Ryan from Alexandria, VA.  She paints colorful, expressive abstract and figurative paintings in oil or encaustic (beeswax and pigment). She works intuitively, often taking a small germ of an idea through a discovery phase via trusted creative processes. Her most recent work focuses on drones, surveillance and environment. Beverly’s studio is in the Torpedo Factory Art Center, and she teaches painting at  The Art League School. She has judged competitive shows, including the current Potomac River Regional Art Show sponsored by the Colonial Beach Artists Guild. Beverly studied at the Corcoran School of Art and Design and recently retired as an Adjunct Professor of Art at Montgomery College.

The Opening Reception and Meet the Artist is on Friday August 11 from 6-9 PM. The exhibit will hang through Monday September 4th.

JarrettThor also shows the works of its wide variety of permanent artists plus decorative minerals, unique jewelry and wooden bowls. On site is also the Tarver Harris Design Studio featuring her abstract art. The gallery is located at 100 Taylor Street in Colonial Beach and is open from 10AM to 5PM on Thursday-Sunday.
