JarrettThor Fine Arts will present two fine artists in October, Nancy Wing and Adele Lynham. Wing’s “Touching the Senses” features nature and its surprising contents, effectively using both studio and plein air processes. Lynham’s “Fraktur: A Modern Look at 18th Century Folk Art” presents watercolor interpretations of old Pennsylvania “fractured letter” art that is both colorful and challenging.
The Opening Reception and Meet the Artists will be Friday October 14 from 6-9PM as part of the Second Friday Art Walk. The public is cordially invited free of charge. The exhibit continues until November 6th.
Nancy Wing, from Fredericksburg, has been painting all her life. Her oil paintings feature water scenes and harbors, individual flowers and planted gardens, battlefields and babbling brooks.
Adele Lynham, from Chevy Chase, MD and now living in York, PA, interprets for us the world of 18th Century clergymen and school masters from the immigrant German communities of the US and Canada. The elaborate lettering “exercises” are balanced, elegant, reverent of nature, and religiously symbolic.
